Went to see the lumber man, guy wasn't even there kinda made me mad. Did get a decent farriers rasp while I was out. Had a guy on tradgang do me favor out of the kindness of his heart. Had another guy from tradgang insult me more than once. I like both of em.

When I say decent farriers rasp that's because my previous one never existed. It was 20 bucks at tractor supply tough 1 is the name brand its ok, When I wear it out ill buy a Nicholson. I own several but not rasp. The size of that thing is awesome. Yea I'm sticking my neck out, keep it clean Roy.

It's easy to do some serious damage with a farrier's rasp.  Right up there with power tools.    :biglaugh:

Yesterday I took off a 3/4hp motor and installed a 2hp motor on my 14" bandsaw... It was a different size shaft on the motor so I got a new pulley from Ace Hardware... They only had a 3 1/2" pulley which is 1" bigger than my old pulley plus the new motor is a bit faster...  So my saw went from about 2,700 fpm to 3,800 fpm...  It will zip through some wood now...  Do any of you all think 3,800 is too fast??  Will it hurt anything or is it unsafe?? I am thinking about ordering a 3" pulley and bringing it down to about 3,300 fpm...

Forwardhandle

I don't think it would be unsafe but might ware blades out a little quicker they might get hotter with the increased speed try it for a while and see with the cost of good blades going up I'm always looking to minimize ware.

On Imgur site, click on the picture you want to post here. When it opens up, over to the right is a list of options. You want the second one from the bottom, "BB code". Click the copy box there behind it, then paste it in here. Remove the S from HTTPS and just make it HTTP in here before you add reply..

BMorv

I can't open the link.  Try the full reply form, click on the image button, then copy and paste the linked BBCode (the last option in imgur).  That works for me.
