Trying to finish up the bow I glued up Friday, I'm not fast as Kenny. But he has Roy cracking the whip on him! I posted pictures of glue up at top of last page.

And took it for an unfinished test drive. Shooting off wood with guessed at brace and nock point.

That's a nice looking bow Carpy.

I sold my $15 white oak boards for $275 today.  I kept the osage and walnut boards.

Then elderly don't sleep but a few hours Kenny.

Did some tillering on a new bow for me. Tri-lam as usual but with a long riser. I'm trying to work on getting more stability/consistency/accuracy/forgiveness in my bows. We will see. Hopefully pictures soon. Mostly side tillering and trapping the back and some preliminary sanding/rounding. Things are looking good so I think it might be time for the handle glue up. The handle will be a number of Osage lams and a rosewood accent. Mainly because it's easier to clamp lams to fit the curve of the belly side than to sand a solid block.
Started with the tips reflexes to 2.75" in front of the back of the riser, still about 2.25"'and it's been to maybe a 4" brace and drawn to around 14". Hoping to keep at least 1" reflex. I'm not adjusting weight at all, just side tillering for a nice even bend. I think it's going to end up around 45#. I was looking for anything between 40-50 so that's good for me, just something I can't hunt with and not get too tired shooting.

Please forgive the ridicules mess in my basement.

Just off the form.

Reflex with tips on bench.

... I'll try to get a picture up tomorrow of the current status.

My riser was still tacky after spraying it last night with polyurethane. So went and bought some of this stuff hoping I got the right stuff and that it works.

I sprayed the tips for a test, carried it back inside, and noticed it was dry already! So I hit the riser also. Now is not a good time to tell me I bought the wrong stuff!
