I tillered an osage selfbow today. It's setting at 4 lbs over target weight after sanding with 240 grit. Everything is radiused, shaped and smooth as a baby's tush. It needs shot in yet, but I don't expect any surprises. Assymetrical design, tillered for split finger, after limbs were synchronized at full draw it shows 1/16" negative tiller at brace.

Gotta go rinse of the yellar dust :^)

I spent the day at a 3D shoot in WV. 32 degrees, windy as heck, 1 " of fresh snow. Shot with a couple younger guys like in their mid 40's. Shot 30 targets, had lunch. Then them young dudes decided they wanted to shoot another 30 targets, so we did. So this ole mans ass is dragging right now..  :)

I know what you mean Roy.  I laid a tile floor for my daughter yesterday and grouted it.  Drove home this morning in pouring rain, now were getting the snow, about an inch or more so far and still coming down.

I might finish sanding my trade bow and put the first coat of finish on it, we'll see.

Where did you shoot at down this way Roy?

I have another tri lam in the oven this evening. My wife liked the last one and asked me to make one for her. This one's going to be a 60 incher if it survives.

Last exit on interstate 70 in Pa before going into WV, Alexandria Pa. Make a left and you are in WV in 3 miles.. Wildlife League Of Ohio Valley.

BCWV

Gotcha, over towards Wheeling.  I was just wondering if you were around Morgantown.

Monday was my day off so my son and I decided to try our hand at making some wooden tobacco pipes out of some leftover riser wood...here is my attempt...

We don't smoke pipes but we did together on Monday around the fire pit outside - It was kind of a fun project.

Don't smoke either but appreciate good work! Nice!

MoeM

Very nice indeed but I wonder how`d you got the hole drilled? I`m planing to make one of my own. Something to smoke once in a while when I stop smoking cigarettes- there are moments tobacco suits just too well... mostly on later evenings and maybe few beers   ;)

I rough cut  the pattern and then used the bandsaw and cut it down the middle lengthwise then used a dremel tool to carve out an opening on either side and glued it back together. My son watched a video instruction on how to and we did our best it was actually pretty easy.

..starting a new plan...

Thinking of this radius for my next bow.

What do you guys think?

bigbob2

not sure where its going? assume riser?should look pretty neat IMO

Finally stirred myself in to bit of action after having a few bits lopped of me and couple skin grafts, then getting a dose of Bronchitis which I'm still dealing with. Got a bow mostly done, its in the oven for couple hours for the nock overlays. Then some sanding and shaping, add an antler overlay on the lower belly ramp and that should be it for a customer.
