Joe, been a beekeeper since I was 12.  I love to mess with them.  I have 21 hives right now.  I make about 100 or so gallon of honey a year.  Lot's of work.....Very nice start on the long bow.

John, that is a beauty.  I love the look of coco but hate to work it.

Might sound strange but...

I've never really gave shooting with a cant a fair shot.
I've always been a straight up vertical guy.
It has really limited me for bow length as I hunt from the ground only..and normally like a bow that I can shoot while sitting on my heels. Kept me at 63" max.
Just tried making a 62" trilam that pulls to 28"...didn't work out so well.
I'm POSITIVE it can be done....but I don't seem to be up to the perfection needed...yet
soooo..

I borrowed a nice ol' 66" Bear polar target bow today.
Just to learn how to shoot with a cant.
Was extremely odd feeling/looking for many shots..and they were all over.

Then it hit me.."hey you stupid &*^%$, you can't just cant your bow...you gotta bend at the waist too"

After that long overdue epiphany..The arrows grouped well.
After putting the bow down a few hours I was able to come back and get right back into it.

So..
On to building a 66" tri that hopefully my meager skills will be up to task to complete....at least this one shouldn't be quite so stressed...

Started on a knew form today for a mild r/d. Beautiful bow Jsweka!  I ordered some coco, black pholonic and tiger myrtle from Big Jim last week. Hope the combo looks as good as yours!

Thanks guys.
Cocobolo is nice once it's done, but I somewhat agree with David.  It seems to take forever for the finish to dry on it (even with sealing with super glue) and the dust burns my nose when working with it.

Been working on getting my new offroad wheelchair, so I can go roving and stumping again.

Got a .oo2 sled in the mail.

Played around making a few single tapers on some scrap.

then I remembered a piece of lamboo flooring sample I had in the basement...
Made another .002 sled.

Then played around and made a couple full length double tapered @ .004 lams with a parallel section in the middle.

all I worked with today was scrap wood...kinda getting antsy to get to work on the real deal.

This stuff is fun!

Finished a couple riser blocks today.  Now if AEP would get the power outage over with, I could get to work on limbs.
