bought myself a spray unit and its really the bees knees for finishing bows.Much easier than stuffing about with my compressor and spray gun. My finish on bows has always sucked, but using spar varnish in this little whizzer has lifted things considerably and all for the princely sum of $49.Might russle up a photo tomorrow.

I just put my first ever project in my newly completed oven.  It's the riser for my first attempt at a glass bow.  It's up to temp and the waiting part is here.  This is like a kid waiting for Christmas to open the presents under the tree.  Kind of silly for an old man but fun anyway.  :)

Finally got around to cutting and grinding my coco, myrtle, and phenolic for the riser for my next bow, and put the final coat of profin on a set of arrows for my middle daughter. Work and honey do's are really interfering with my hobbies!!

So far today all I've managed to do is change some hinges on my wife's laptop and not kill the kids the process.  I think they're going a little crazy with all the cooler weather and rain and not being able to go outside.

With any luck I'll get some pics of the most recent bow I just finished.  Still have to make a string.  May go do that now.  Then get some pics and shoot her some.

Should also be able to make the last pair of lams for another one I've started and maybe get the second accents done in the riser.  We'll see.

Today is 8 days without a smoke or a beer...  :)

Way to go Roy! I hope the lack of beer doesn't make you grouchy though...Oh, never mind.

Hang in there Roy. 'bout decided myself its time to give up the dip. My 18 year old son has started dipping now and that REALLY hurts. Never wanted any of my kids to have such a crutch.

rockkiller

You can do it Roy.Its damm tough, but worth it.I quit 2 packs of camel straights a day about 15 months ago.Smoked almost 50 years,so if a mere mortal like me can do it ,one of the bow making gods can do it.   ;)
But still like a beer once in awhile.   :goldtooth:

i guided for twenty plus years in africa- hunt guiding- white water guiding, and dangerous game horseback and walking trails. drinking is such a part of that system. each client wants to party at night, and when they go home to recover you get the next group of revellers .
it was hard to quit after twenty odd years of hard drinking- but i did about 3 years ago- it was tough- but i dont miss it at all- know how much money i save!!!
and i lost a lot of "friends" since i dont have booze in the house anymore.

if thats what you want to do- youll get 'er done!!
were all rooting for ya- ol' fella!!

I gave up the cigarettes over 25 year ago, smoked packet tobacco a day then ! Cant give up my tipple of red wind though and don't want too. All's fine in moderation.

Roy from Pa

Thanks Guys.. Not planning on staying off the beer forever, but fuggered it would help with the no smokes. But I don't really miss neither one as of right now.

Buemaker

Keep it up. Staying away from coffee and beer in a transmission period helps. Large amounts of chocolate helps also.   ;)

Sadly I started smoking when I was very young and finally quit a few years back. It was difficult but well worth it.

I always say I gained 25lbs of lard in 2 months and I could still run faster than when I was smoking. lol.

Anyway, Stick to your goal, every day is easier than the day before.

Hang in ther Roy! I quit smoking after only a few years and that wasn't to bad. I quit drinking cold turkey about 15 years ago and quit the snuff about 5 years ago. Snuff was by far the hardest. I wanted a dip every day for a solid year! Now I don't miss any if it. Plus when I do get to go on hunting trips with friends an family I'm the only one who's still ready to go after a few days! Everybody else ain't feeling so good!   :biglaugh:
