What is the most accurate takedown recurve you have ever shot?

Mine are:
1. Hoyt Gamemaster
2. Habu
BCD

the Ferret

Rocky Mt Recurve.... but I shot it daily for over 7 years. Shoot anything daily for 7 years and you should get fairly proficient with it.
There is always someone that knows more than you, and someone that knows less than you, so you can always learn and you can always teach

themonkey

heck any recurve is accurate enough if you practice, the best shooting ive ever shot has been my hoyt eclipse with medalist limbs set up for olympic shooting, instinctive, its the gamemaster all da way.
Don't deal with me, I stole from the St Jude's Auction.

Golden Hawk

Like Ferret says the most accurate is the one you shoot daily. Even the most well made bow will only shoot as good as you shoot it.

It's no different than golf- a crappy golfer can have the best dang clubs in the world, but they won't make him a 7 handicapper. That's why you see all those used golf equipment stores around town.

Give a great golfer a set of hacker clubs, though, and he will kick your XXX all over the golf course, probably just playing the whole round with just a five iron too, to make it really insulting.

It doesnt matter...they are all BETTER than we can shoot them, unless we shoot perfect scores.

Kip

I agree with Ray mine are the most accurate but not with me shooting them.Kip

MikeC

I agree with the others regarding accuracy of a bow, it's really the shooter.

Now if your asking about shooting characteristics of a recurve I would have to say my DAS Master is the finest I have ever shot or owned.

Border Black Douglas

Home-made Warf (metal riser, Samick Privelege Carbon ILF limbs.

I like long bows (62 to 64"), HEAVY mass risers, and a highly sculpted grip!

For me, forgiveness, proper tuning, and decent speeds are what help with accuracy.  (Speed because any bow should be consistent at a given range, but a "reasonable" or "high" speed gives a smaller vertical spread at different ranges, especially when not using a sight, or using a simple style of aiming method...).

I also had good results with a Robertson Vision Falcon, and a Bob Lee Signature.

I never understand why people can't just answer these questions.  A Bear Grizzly can shoot way better than I can shoot it but I shoot my Widow MAV way better than the Grizzly.  I think that is the question and type of answer being sought.  To date my Widow is the most accurate I have shot.  The most accurate stickbow would have to be the Morrison Dakota I used to own.  It shot more accurately than the Widow even.

The bow I am most accurate with is a DAS Master Hunter.

For me the Palmer single carbon takedown, but as said earlier it should be your everyday bow.
I would've taken better care of myself,if I'd known I was gonna live this long!

A great bow will make a good shooter better.
A great bow will make a great shooter great.
A great bow will do nothing for a bad shooter.
But a bad bow will frustrate the heck out of us all.

The Best recurves for me have been Bob Lee
and Zipper Extreme

Whip

I really think it is a personal thing.  Certain bows will shoot better for one individual and the next guy will shoot something else better.  I'm sure it has to do with many factors, including form and style of shooting.  But probably the most important factor?  Having properly spined and matched arrows.

Having said that, for me personally I think the bow I shot the best was a Widow PMAV.  Didn't keep it though  :knothead:

And that's why it cannot be answered satisfactorily...because the question starts from the wrong premise.

The best shooting recurve for each of US has nothing to do with what one would be best shooting for the questioner...he will be given 300 different answers and still be in the same spot he is in now..or maybe worse off!!!

What works for me probably won't work for you. That's whats great about America...choices, choices, choices.

Go to a big shoot, or a Trad Expo..and try them all. Find the one that works for you...no one else can do that for you.

Barney

My most accurate is the bighorn I've been shooting for over 10 yrs, but that's why. As said before, it what you,the shooter is proficient with.
