Horn Chaser

Well got off work this morning and went out to the shop and got the bow out of the form and knocked off the glue buggers a little. Took this pic before I taped it back up to start profiling and shaping it up. Not the prettiest pic in the world but gives you an idea how she is looking so far.

Horn Chaser thats gonna be a very nice bow.  B&W is my favorite wood.      be mine

Working on fixing an old bow, gonna cable back it after piking it 8" (it was 75" to begin with.) Need to make a fixture to put it in reflex beforehand.  If it works out, it might find a new home-I already know the bow is solid, just needs to gain some weight.

Edward, can't wait to see what you come up with, you always have a creative approach to making bows.

Here is what I have gathered so far for my swap bow... I'm using the veneers on the belly and thinking brown glass on the back....
What do you guys think about brown glass??

delongbows

I love brown glass...especially  with lighter woods.

I like em all. The Bear Super Kodiak with green limbs takes the cake.

Think it's gonna take a second ball of hemp to finish this backing.  It's got horizontal pin nocks of bone, which with the right string loops will hold much better than regular nocks, if a bit fussier to put on.

Should have a pic of progress up tomorrow.  I worked nearly twelve hours on it today, I estimate it still has three or four days of that left.

Wow a guy goes away for 5 days and spends 5 more getting caught up here.
