Yes Scott,It's very different from what I usually shoot. I'm a guy that has, for the last 20 years shot recurve with a bowquiver full of arrows. So a lot of that physical weight isn't there...this bow is a feather.

Yes Chad, the grip is the biggest hurdle for me right now because I shoot with a straight wrist. but it's not really bad at all and I'm working on a way to make it a little better for me.

No my thumbs aren't big at all, average size hands at best.

Cade's doing much better. He hasn't shot again yet,but probably will this weekend. Thanx for asking bud

Shawn, with my work schedule we might get a chance to shoot one sunday, but only if you come down here. Get a hold of ED and see if he wants to....

Bear's right, I can pull this bow to at least 30" and it's smooth as silk!

Right now I don't have a chrono to mess with, but I can tell you from bare shafting a bit that it wants a really, really stiff arrow shaft for a 55# bow. So I know it's shooting hard.

I guarantee this bow will surprise you in a positive way!!

Ralph, good luck with the turkeys bud

You guys are getting me excited now. Mine should be here before too much longer.
Happy Trails,
Chad

pete p

good pics. how is the handshock? youd think a bow that small in the riser section would have a bit of vibration??

MikeC

Was shooting mine during lunch today.  Fun bow to shoot.  Love the grip, it's a natural pointer for me.

Ralph Renfro

NO hand shock at all. Very smooth and VERY Fast!

Mine has no hand shock at all shooting slightly over 9gpp and is super quiet ta boot with a little moleskin (ran out of Bow Hush)and llama wool silencers.  As a matter of fact Marks was shooting real quiet the other day with nothin for silencers.

Yeah Curt I'm used to bow quivers too.  Been trying to get used to a hipper these days when carrying my Sheepeater and it's not so weird anymore.  Suppose I could strap a Great northern on but I just cant see-it on this bow.

Hey Chad, I touched your Bow...    :p    She's a bute Bud.

Terry Green

I don't know how long it is .......didn't even look.

Randy....might try one of those Eagle's Flight bow quivers.....Rob D sent me on cause he liked his so much, and I done went and bought two more.

Ron LaClair's got some two tone leather ones. ....and they are light, and you hardly know they are on the bow compared to other bow quivers.

Randy,
Some of that "Middle of Montana Mojo" you gave the bow should work just fine. These bows are special and unique, it is good to see them getting the attention they deserve.

I've been real happy using a Lakota style quiver.I will send you a note with my opinion on the advantages of the Lakota, don't want to side track this thread.

Maybe I will see my Sheepeater myself this week??
Happy Trails,

Chad...putting on the handlewrap of your bow this weekend, and should be able to ship it to you by mid-week, so you should have it by the end of the week.   It's a beauty and quite a shooter too!

Enough already! You guys are driving me crazy with all this!  Just kidding.  Glad they are shooting great for everybody, adn someday I hope to be the one posting about mine with a picture of a Pennsylvania Whitetail with it, or an eastern turkey.

Randy Morin

Me too Lee, me too, on that Turkey picture thing.

Chad, I'll be lookin for it. Randy.

Randy Morin

Bayou...they are 47-48" long ntn braced.  Not sure what that is unbraced but they draw smooth out past 28.  Thats as far as most 60" R/D longbows. Dang Static tips are where it's at.

Guru

I've had a few guys ask what I was doing to the grip,so here's some pix. Various leather pieces placed in the right spot, then overwrapped. This is just temporary, but so far I like it. It's cushions it some, and makes it a more of a positive locater for an old recurve shooter like me.......

It looks big and bulky, but it's not at all. This riser is just tiny. It feels great for my straight wristed style.....

I've struggled a bit with finding the right arrows,it's still a work in progress. Best so far are tapered cedars around #80's....like I said, this bow is a powerhouse!!!

I mostly want to shoot wood out of this bow. So I have 22 tapered 65-70 Doug fir's I'm going to put in the classies, to trade for for something the similar, but stiffer....

Maybe you guys can help me a bit.....
What's causing this wearing out of the leather on the outer part of the shelf........

I'm shooting a red dipped arrow and you can see the red color streak thru the mark.No wear at all where the arrow is drawn. I've tried nock point everywhere from too high, to too low.

I can shoot a bare shaft and don't hear it hit,but as soon as I shoot a fletched shaft,I hear it as it leaves to bow.....

As recommended by Randy, I went to two nock points, one above and below. It definitely helped some, but it still does it.......

I love this little sucker, and am having a blast figuring her out......

Mark Baker

Oh the humanity!   Just kidding.   Some old dogs can't be taught, eh Curt?

Are you still getting fairly consistent pressure through your hand?   Trying to move the point of balance higher, is probably messing a bit with your normal nock point, I'm guessing.   I don't know, but I like your enthusiasm.

Every bow we have built, and shot, before sending out to the customers, nocks consistently the same, and we are shooting them fairly consistently with both wood and carbon, and alum, though they don't shoot quite as well.

Keep at her, bud.

Guru

Mark..    :D   Do you mean I can't shoot this bow with a straight wrist? As in, all the pressure just below the shelf?

Cause I don't shoot worth crap with a heel down, broken wrist.......

Steve, That's what I thought too,but I went purposely weak and I still got the noise....
