Beautiful lines and workmanship on that Kenny!  Love the shape on the grip.

They are pistachio.  Picked them up from Kevin Connor over at Wood From the West.  Pistachio orchards cut down unproductive trees and graft new saplings onto those rootstocks, which gives them those weird, sharp demarcation lines.  The orchards were using those cut trees for firewood so Kevin grabs as much as he can and cuts into bow veneers among other things.  This wood, in my opinion, is so impressive that I use it almost exclusively.

I've also received some excellent woods from Kevin over there at Wood From the West and the pistachio is right up there as my fav.  In fact it's what I'm using in my current build. 10/10 would recommend

I get paranoid about even pressure and flatness when the pieces are long like that.  The bocote is also 3/8" so I wasn't taking any chances!

Crooked Stic

I have a piece of 7/16 s angle iron 3 in. Wide and a flat piece to go on top and C clamp the riser pieces. And I do well them for line up in a part that is later cut off.

Turned out well I think. Opinions welcome, tell me if it sucks now before it's glued into a bow!  :biglaugh:

If you want even pressure do like Stic says and use a straight block on top, then apply clamping force to the block.

By the way,  my poor victim,  end comes outta box and slide the bow out the end. Unless you wanna use a wrecking bar and pull nails...

Screws are heavier and with shipping cost, I just couldn't use em on whole box ...
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I figure if I had no proof of selling it or the worth of it, or getting paid for it, there wouldn't be a chance in hell of getting an insurance claim done on it when they run over it!!
