Any of my Shrewhaven buddies.  These guys are not just there to help in camp or the woods but they're there everyday in life if you need it. Some of us started barely knowing each other but now they're like brothers.

I've enjoyed watching and reading their work. There's others too...Ken Beck

I really enjoy reading stuff by Gene Wensel, Fred Asbel, and  I think hunting with Barry Wensel would be a hoot.  I've met a few more guys here that are great as well.

But how can my favorite bow hunter not be the guy that introduced me to bowhunting, gave me my first real hunting bow, and took me along on countless bow hunts. It has to be my dad.  Reuben Savaloja.  He had such a passion for hunting and certainly passed that on to me.

A lot of Bowhunters I look up too, but as a boy growing up in the 80s, Barry Wensel was my hero, Roger Rothhar as well. But my Dad and Uncle Steve introduced me and taught me to hunt.

Definitely my dad! He was the one that got me in the woods, helped put me on deer when I was young, and helped me drag my first ones out. Love my other buddies that hunt, but no one will replace Dad!

Damfino! There have been so many well known and respected archers it is hard to pick any one that is more respected than all the rest. As a kid I saw more videos of Fred Bear than anyone else. But, like some of the others here, I would say that my respect is stronger for the average guy who practices hard, hunts hard, and is very conscious of the law and strong ethics. My favorite bowhunter is the unknown guy who lives up to these qualities day by day.

Roger Rothhaar. Best whitetail bowhunter in my eyes. And a real gentleman.

Loved Roger as well. Just look at his clothes. Love it. The real deal. And a gentleman is right. I remember years ago he was our guest speaker at our banquet. When he got there it was late and guys were asking question after question and he sat in the lobby of the hotel and answered them all. will never forget that.

JR,  I ordered both of Roger Rothhaar's books in the mid-1990s and talked with him a while on the phone. Then after reading them I called and told Roger how much I really enjoyed his books and talked to him some more about bowhunting. Both times I talked to him he answered my questions and never rushed to get off the phone. Then a few weeks later this autographed picture for me came in the mail. This picture dedicated to me now hangs in my game room, It's one of my prized possessions.

I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

That is awesome buddy. Not many like him left that hunt to hunt. Most just want to make money. Love that guy.

Not sure I have a favorite, but will say the most interesting stories are the ones about Paul Shafer.

One of my favorites and always admired his story's and photos is Mike Mitten

Todd Cook

Two of my best friends, Crispin Henry and Dendy Cromer from GA. They're not famous but they're as good at killing critters with a stickbow as any I know. And Robert Carter of course. All three are good men too.

I wouldn't  say that I have a favorite, but being an active member of the PBS and Compton's, I've gotten to know and become friends with a lot of our more well known Bowhunters as well as a lot who aren't as known but are every bit as good. I have a ton of admiration for Gene and Barry, The Mittens, Monty Browning, Brian Burkhardt, Bill Terry, and a bunch of others and I'm proud to call all of them friends
