Brian was a deer magnet! 20 some deer by him in 2 or 3 days.  He had to head home early because his son was sick. 

Quite a day today!!! Hoping a couple stories to unfold here ... 

Kenny I will get on those guys.  Another 1st deer ever and 3 out of 4 hunters successful.  I had to come home with Brian early but I had 2 missed chances.

Congrats Brian, way to start a season and your path of your traditional archery successes.   

 

So Garrett and Tony hunted this last year and both came back.  Garrett got his first Traditional deer last year and shoots nothing else now.  He got a nice double lung on a doe Thursday morning, watched it fall.   Tony hunted deer for the first time last year and missed 3 deer due to what we figured out was equipment.  His bow was actually 35 lbs and we thought it was 50, so his arrows were not performing well.  Kenny sold Tony a bow last year and Tony was very diligent practicing and this year he got his first deer ever on Thursday evening.  Saw it fall in its tracks due to spine hit.  Everyone saw multiple deer each sit except for me as I was dealing with a bad sinus infection/cough.  I still had 2 opportunities and can only blame a branch on one miss the other was all me.
No one in this group was trophy hunting so everything was fair game and everyone had a great time.  One huge buck was spotted and several nice ones.  Tony and Garrett both had multiple ground stalks that resulted in misses or getting busted.  Kenny is a great host and I highly recommend this hunt for anyone new to traditional bowhunting or new hunters.

Thanks Dan, I'm super glad to see young guys take up trad bowhunting. 

We have ample targets to keep their interest up here I think.

I had a great week hunting Kenny's lease. After getting busted a handful of times and more missed shots than I care to admit, I was able to harvest my first deer! I'm absolutely hooked, and will look forward to our annual hunt all year long. The first couple days were pretty hot, but once the cold front moved in we were seeing deer left and right. It didn't matter if I was in Kenny's stands or in my saddle, this place is crawling with deer. I recommend anyone considering this lease jump all over it.

Tell the story of your deer Tony.  I think it is pretty cool.

Just returned from Kenny's lease, 4th year for me and Aldo, always a pleasure to talk with Kenny and share hunting stories. As usual the cabin is great. We saw a few small bucks, that we passed on, Aldo seen a real nice buck, that didn't precent a shot. I was able to kill a doe early in the hunt, which was donated, we saw many other does, that we passed on. Another great year at Kenny's, we look forward to
next year. We'd like to thank Kenny for the opportunity to hunt the lease.

The temps caused Ray and Aldo some probs as the deer were mostly moving at night I think. Also food falling all over in the woods(acorns) so the deer didn't have to travel except for water.
