Shooting for 30-35#.

And 55# is enough for me. I don't get to shoot often enough for any more than that.

Prepped all day for my stinkin' friend Dorian... Now that I have all the basics done I am gonna start wrapping all my tools and bow making jigs in plastic in case I lose the roof...   I live on the east coast in the middle of the state of FL...  Its gonna be close...  If I don't pull through its been nice knowing Y'all...   :shaka:

Surf's up. I don't envy you Shredd. I can't even imagine the kind of wind and waves associated with Hurricanes.

I love fried green tomatoes and as I am going to have to take my tomato plants down in a week or so for a collard/kale patch I am trying different ways to preserve them for future use.

Yesterday it was can and dehydrate. I will add the dried ones to fried okra for that green tomato taste.

Those look fantastic Eric!

Late summer/early fall as the tomato plants start to fall off was always the time to make Chow Chow for my family. For those not in the know... Chow Chow is chopped up green tomatoes, onion and spices, sweetened with brown sugar, pickled and then hot canned. We ate it on everything (crackers, toast, etc.). It is fantastic to add a spoonful to beans to go along with cornbread.

Eric, you have me eyeing my tomato plants in the back yard now... even though we still may have a month of production on our late season varieties I may need to go pick some green ones.

In a moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing. The worst thing you can do is nothing.

Our grocery store actually sells green tomatoes all year round:)

We used to pick all the tomatoes that were left just before the first frost and spread them out on a sheet of cardboard in a dark room in the basement. They would continue to ripen slowly through the fall. One year we had lots. We ate garden tomatoes into January.
My mom used to make chow chow. Good stuff.😃

Them Maters look pretty yummy.
I think I got this last limb design looking good. The first lumpy one work ok but may not have been accepted. See the difference.

Making some lam keepers for bow forms...  If I know I am gonna have to make something again I usually make 4 times as many...  It's a PITA but it pays off in the long run...
