Thanks for the comments, guys.  I've enjoyed hosting this over the years.  Ken, please tell Pam hello.  You guys are welcome any time.  Today we made a short trip on Alexander Run.  My wife, Renee was able to join us and she quickly assumed her role as sun goddess.

We didn't see as much wildlife today, but we did snorkel in the main spring and that was a lot of fun.

Well, this trip is in the books, and we couldn't have had a better time! We can't thank Gregg and Renee enough for all their hospitality, and for putting up with us for the weekend. We got to see some very beautiful country, and in a mode (kayaking) neither of us had ever done before!!!!

This is a trip that is well worth the auction bid!!!!!!

Awesome photos!!

So, I have a question about the gators.  I have never seen one is person but they freak me out with fear.  Is there no concern about being in kayaks and having a gator try to tip you over?

Gators are generally pretty placid.  They rarely show aggression towards something as big as a person or a kayak.  Obviously, there are exceptions.  Most people who get in trouble with a gator end up cornering one or making them feel threatened in some way.  Even then, they tend to flee.  It pays to be more cautious at dawn and dusk and in mating season.  Children and pets are another matter.  They look and sound a lot more like a food source.

It took me two years to talk Pam into letting me bid on this because of all the gator pics, but now she would do it again in a heart beat. Gregg even got her into the river to snorkel  :scared: :biglaugh:

Gregg, everything looked peachy until you mentioned snorkeling and then posted a picture of a big snake both in the same post. Other than that, it looks like a really great event. It is really generous of you and Renee to offer this trip.

Joe Lasch & I did this trip in 2013.  One of The Best Adventures we have done!!  Joe was just down hog hunting with me (left today in fact) in south Georgia.  It would have been very tempting to just head a little further south for some kayaking...hint :)
