Thanks guys.  Sorry to bring the mood down.  I'm not on social media or anything like that, just felt I needed a little support from some people who probably understand what I'm going through.  You try and prepare yourself for this, but you are never ready to let go.  He was a special friend.  Gonna miss you buddy.

Ben, so sorry for your loss.

I've been there many times and I know how empty you feel at this time.

That sucks Ben, my lab is getting up there in years and I'm dreading the day I have to make the decision.

Thank you all for the support.  It really helped.  This website has a great group of guys.
I feel much better today.  One day removed from the loss and I can focus a little more on the life he had and how he made the lives of the people around him better, mine especially.  Jack was the 1st dog I owned, and even a day after the loss, I can say that it's worth going through this.  Dogs are great and they can teach us a lot about how we should treat the people in our lives.
Can't say enough how much I appreciate it.  Yes, he was just a "dog", but if you've had that special relationship with a pet you understand what they bring to your life.
Thanks again.

The new pup is almost too cute for you Roy.  Luckily the dog won't judge you  :)

Sorry for your loss, Ben. I've buried 4 dogs and a cat in the 29 years we've lived here. Each one was special, each one has remained fond memories for my wife and I. You'll never find a truer friend than a dog, especially a rescued dog.
The cat(Lawrence) helped raise everyone of the dogs. He was the boss and liver 25 years.

He could fly that's for sure, I did the same with Phes on our quad.

Truly mans best friend!! I've lost quite a few in my 34 years of life. It never gets easier and you'll never replace each one you lose. But you can start making memories and a new relationship when you're ready. I can't imagine not having one (or 3 :goldtooth:) in my house at a time.
Sorry for your loss it will get easier

Sorry for your loss. Kopper put into words what I was thinking, you will be able to add to the memories, when you are ready, without ever taking anything away from the past.

Roy, you wearing a collar too, man?  :}
