Looks nice Lonnie...  Do yourself a favor...  Get a sheet of plywood, paint it white and hang it behind your tiller tree...  With things in the background, shadows and such, the shape of your bow can be deceiving...  It will also look nice and be easier to compare bow profiles in the future against other bows that you made so that you can see what works and achieve optimal performance...

Here yah go...

I will have to see about that, it does make it easier to see. Thanks.
Skeater who?

That works, I've seen ones with a 4" grid lines behind and you can compare limbs at regular intervals.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

It was the thirties Mr. Smarty pants:)

Don't have a chrony but yes it is quick.

kennym

Running in his flappers?

I bet it is Roy, the bow I got from you  is quick too.

The bow you made me smokes arrows too, Kenny.

Every 3D shoot I take it to, I always get comments from other guys as to how fast it shoots.

They ask me who made it and I say some old coot from Linneus , Mo.

I finally glued up the boo backed lemonwood bow. It was the one I added the hickory backing to that lifted a splinter so I ground that backing off. This thing has been staring at me so I finally gave in.  :saywhat:  I don't have much confidence in it but we'll see.

I made a little more progress on the bocote bow. I still have a few hours of fit and finish but I was able to put a few shots through it. It turns out I read wrong the other day when I checked the weight, it came in at 47#@28" not 44#, it isn't huge but it's in the right direction and I am good with that. It's also pushing 522gr a ballpark average of 158fps. I will take that too. I am curious what it would do in the right hands with a good string.

Hey Skeats what brace height & string are you using also are you using the light kit on your chrony some times with out it I get erratic readings ,my bow is with in 1/2 lb draw of you ,but at 30 1/2'', 550 grain mid 180s ,16 strand D97  7 1/4'' brace height , I use a pull threw flight bow type release if I release with a static hold it cost me average 5-15 fps ?

I didn't measure the brace height but I would guess around 6 1/2"ish. I do have lights on the chrono but even at that my first two shots were 260fps and 680fps. I am assuming I was a smidge off center  :jumper:

The string is B50 and I don't remember how many strands exactly but I think I probably did 12-16.

I would say a lot of it has to do with me and my form. I have a Martin Savanah at 45# shooting about the same speed. I also have a Striker Stinger at 50# and also shooting about the same speed. All with the same arrows. Or maybe my chrono could be whacky.

I did the same thing today that I did yesterday and the day before that.

Sanded the old finish off my bow to get it ready for refinish. Hopefully tomorrow I can get it finished up and sprayed.

Lonnie , go with the 260, nobody gonna believe the 680!  :biglaugh:

Brad I feel for ya, I hate removing finish!
Stay sharp, Kenny.
