That's awesome Kenny!  Antlers came out great

I'm calling foul.... LOL

Very nice Kenny.

4 point, that's what makes each bow handcrafted by the bowyer.  The only ones that I know of that are perfect are the ones that machines make.    I don't think we would be in this swap if we were interested in those bows.

HUH??

There is a flaw in every bow, even the pro's .

Just how it works. I usually have several in mine!     :D

[/b]
Tell me about it...  I took my time double checked everything and when I went to spray the bow I looked down and saw a flaw...  I said, "Too late now...  Finish is going on"...
Well...  Needles to say...  I got the first coats of finish on today...

You do know that you're supposed to wash the socks before they go into the drawer right???
  :dunno:    ;)
Very nice bow, by the way.
Dave.
" Vegetarian" another word for bad hunter.

Roy from Pa

Keep yer socks in one drawer far far away from yer pink undies drawer.

Got the form all cleaned up and the riser cut. Will add the aluminum face and the angle iron straightening legs tomorrow.

Kenny, those antler overlays look great! I'm liking that bow.

Chris, thats going be a good look'n riser.

I'm working on a curvy selfbow now. After a few hours working on that thing the flaws in my glass bow seem minor!

Is it still progress if you are moving backwards?   :archer2:

I braced my victims bow this morning for the first time. I was very surprised, it's sitting at a 1/8" negative tiller. For me I count that as a win.

I did also find that I am about 5-7 lbs under weight which unfortunately is enough to be out of the requested specs. Which is baffling, because according to Binghams chart, at the total stack measurement (measured right at the end of the wedge fade), I should be right in the middle of the 10 lb range that was specified.

The bow is plenty long so I have room to pike it a bit so my question(s) will be around doing that. If I take another inch I will gain X number of pounds, but how much of that will I lost by narrowing the limbs so they don't look like tree trunks and have all that extra tip weight.

OH, I forgot to add that limbs are already 1" shorter than what Bingham's call for so I am doubly surprised at the lower draw weight.

Can't you swap ends and have 1/8" pos tiller? doesn't look like you have shaped riser yet?

My bows gain around 5-6# when you take an inch off each end.

I think Binghams measure lams at the butt thickness instead of the end of wedge. That would make you lighter tho, correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Did you go with plan length and taper rate?

How about the limb pad angle?

Scale good?

Got yer glasses on?
Stay sharp, Kenny.

skeaterbait

LOL, yep, had the glasses. The scale however could and probably should be questioned. Maybe I better look in to a new one to make sure. This one is pretty old and was used in a pro shop so it could very well be worn out.

I guess I didn't really think about taking that 1" off would changed the limb width. Which is funny since I thought about that when asked my question    :knothead:

Is it better to have positive tiller over negative?
