Nice work to everyone, Al love that design, D also very nice, Olin, very nice selfbow.

Everyone is really doing great work.

I've made some progress on the swap bow, I will post pics later today ... Still needs to be shot in more, but it's tillered and is looking pretty good .... still not sure if I'm happy with it. More shooting and I'll decide if it's back to the drawing board or not.

A real lot of progress here... but I wasn`t too lazy in between- got my riser roughed and inserts set now I hope to get my limbs right at first glue. Not that easy to transfor a 1pc design to 3pcs when there are only two of the 1pc are existent...

D

Thanks for the nice words everybody.  Its greatly appreciated.

Texan that looks great.  Always in awe of you selfbow guys.

Ranger44

As usual a good looking bunch of bows.

Nice work on the arrows too D!

I've done as much as I can on my form and now I am waiting for materials.  I thought I had a pattern bit for my router but the two I had were too short.  I'm waiting for the bit and also for bow materials from BigJim.  I ordered enough material for two bows so hopefully one will be good enough for my swap bow.

D

hey Scott did those brackets work ok for ya??

Ranger44

Just what I needed D.  Thanks a lot.

You can use the shorter pattern bit.
Make the first pass using the template, then drop it down, and use the cut areas the new template line...does that make sense???!!!??

Kiwi craig

Well my swap bow is finished  and all wrapped up
Should go out  in mail tomorrow if I get into town

Ranger44

Definitely makes sense fujimo.  But, then I wouldn't get to buy a new bit.  :)

D

Oh we get ya Scott. Just have to buy a new bit huh....wink wink Lolol. I did mine the drop down way. Glad the brackets worked for ya.

One of two things will happen; it'll either work or it won't.

After a little hiatus to do spring break and start a new job, I'm back in the saddle and working on my hickory backed Ipe longbow. It is coming along nicely as I am taking it real slow with the tillering. So far it is bending quite nicely. I'm hoping to have it drawn to 20" by tonight and ready for putting a few arrows through it by the weekend.

Finally got mine finished up, had a few problems with the finish clouding where I repaired the tip, had to strip it down and do it over.  Looks good now.  Have it all packed up, should hit the mail tomorrow.

I finally got some time last weekend to do the shaping on my riser. It was kind of weird doing it for the wrong hand...but it is coming out nicely. Should finish it up this weekend.

Pics for mine are on page 104.

I'm unfortunately not exactly recovering as expected.  However, I still can get some Danish oil on the wood tomorrow.  After that it'll really just need wrapped the right way and it can be off.
