Ralph that wood combo is great.  I really like the color.  I like that osage WestTexan.  I like the handle wrap.  I've got to try an osage selfbow sometime soon.

Hey Razorback how is the bow doing???  Oh I hope its still doing good.

Bolivian rosewood, I scored a ton of it and it is one of the best woods to work with in my oppenion.

Just got back into the US and had a beautiful bow waiting for me at my Mom's house!  Sad thing is I need to give it up to my recipient.  Sorry for not being  around guys I have had some pretty amazing opportunities come up for my family and I and had no extremely limited access to internet.  I'll post more tomorrow.  I can't believe we reached 164 pages so far this year!

Happy days oh happy days. I came home to the long awaited white PVC tube. And inside was an awesome hickory self bow. This baby draws smooth and shoots hard. Dino you did a great job and I love the beaver hide grip.  I was in and out most of the day and didn't get to shoot it but a couple of times but she shoots where you look.  I will try to post pictures in a couple days headed outta town in the morning.

Thanks again for a fine bow Dino for a fine bow.

I'm glad the bow arrived and you like it!  It is the heavest bow I have built...worked it lots on the tillering tree.

Sorry you had to wait until the bitter end...it took three tries to get to weight.

Take care,
Dino

Will be taking mine off the caul tonight and getting it ready for some hickory backing. Will give all the pieces a few days to get to even MC and then glue up. Should be tillering by sunday.

Dear *****:

Just to keep you from worrying, progress on your bow IS being made.  Made a dry run last night with my new form.  I'm getting excited.  Also made progress on the requisite daughter's dresser, it's ready for glue up as well.  Understanding with the boss has been reached in that I will spray both at the same time which has eased tensions a bit.  As long as there's a dresser that she can put clothes in before I ship the bow I may just be around for another swap next year.

The fades closed up nice at about 40 psi.  Actually, the fades were good earlier, it's the tight curve into the handle on this short riser that was a little bit of a concern with a lamination of cherry over the top.

Enjoy; more updates as appropriate!

Great idea using 80/20, Canopy.
My bow has made it to the intended city. Should arrive on Saturday. Hope it will serve the recipient well. I've learned a great deal in my first swap. Thanks to you all.

Thanks for noticing, I'm excited because it makes swapping forms around really easy since all the load is carried by the 80/20.  I was thinking of making something out of 1.5 x 3 alum rectrangular extrusions, but I needed some welding done.  Then 80/20 hit me, and I looked up the section properties and it was stiffer.  Plus, the basic benefits of 80/20 and being able to bolt stuff anywhere along the length.  The downside is it costs a little more.  One of the reasons my wife is less than happy with my bow building hobby.  I almost spend more time and money on tooling than it would cost to buy a finished bow.

conopyboy - I can't wait to see how that bow turns out.  Looks like it will be a string follow design from the pics of your form.  Is it?

I would also like to appologize to ************ for being late with my bow. I am hoping to send it out next week. It's looking good so far, hope it's worth the wait.
