well, i snapped the ash selfbow, moved onto hickory, had a splinter, gave up, my wife decided to back it for me while i was outa town, with an old camo t-shirt of mine. has a bit of jacobean stain on it as well from her trying to help, hadn't finished sanding so....... hopefully i can spruce it up enough for my recipient.

I couldn't decide on Cocobolo or Bocate, so XXXXXXXXX got both.   It currently has two coats of Thunderbird and will get another one or two tomorrow after the lettering and a couple of flaws are sanded smooth.  Should be in mail on Monday, if not, it will not get mailed until Thursday as I will be out of town on business until then.

Oh, and most importantly, it is an excellent shooter.

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Walt, that is beautiful! Love the grain in those woods, and the overall shape of that bow is nice!

Timbermoose, I think I need some lessons from you -- how do you get your wife to help?  :)

One of two things will happen; it'll either work or it won't.

I got and still have the pleasure of owning one of Walts bow's.  I was the amazingly lucky one to get his last year and whoever gets that one this year will not be anywhere near disappointed.  He does really great work.  That's a great looking bow Walt.

SportHunter

Really sharp bow walt, nice curves!

Friday I came home to a cardboard tube leaning against my front door. Inside was a super cool great lakes style flatbow with one side scalloped.  I've been thinking about making one and one shows up at my doorstep.  Shoots nice.  Definitely taking it to the woods this fall.   Thanks 4est trekker

I finished up my trade bow over the weekend!  Sorry to my recipient for getting this out at the last minute (tracking numbers will be sent to bow swap mod during my lunch break).  I too know how suspenseful it is checking the mail each day looking for something long sticking out of the mailbox (...I'm still checking my mailbox for a long tube)!

I'm very happy with this bow...60# at 28" selfbow hickory (heat treated) with beaver tail handle wrap.  I hope XXX is happy as well!

Looking forward to next year's swap already!

Dino
