I spent this morning hunting in a foreign world. Santa came and left me every Kids dream come true. A white South Texas Christmas! I couldn't help myself this morning. I dawned the thickest garb and hit the woods. Funny how snow makes hunting so easy. Heck, just follow the tracks in the snow till you cross your quary. I ground stalked three different hogs this morning. I could have nailed a big one but I was quite far from home and didn't wish to drag the big fella all that way in the snow. Merry Christmas to you all! CK

I finished out the day just as I started, just a little less snow. This little guy never knew how close to death he was. I'll try again tomorrow. CK

Acadian Woods

Two weeks ago we were bird hunting and had to cross a pass to get to the next valley, and I took this picture out of the truck window.  It's about a mile from where we used to have our regional archery shoots.

There is a Grizley on there, just real hard to see. Its a 125 black set horizontal - gets lost in the background. 53# Reynold's take down Ramhorn with Arrow Dynamic carbon and yellow fletch so I can see it go. 9grn / lb it will go fast and go through. Got a couple of nutters in the stand in case of varmints or skwerls.

This doe is doing the two directions listening thing, dang that would be handy.
