Why is it that the best stand trees always have the poison ivy vine on them?  And why is it always on the side you need to hunt?  I cleaned one off of one tree looked just like that one.  It dripped juice the whole time.  I'm amazed I didn't get any of it on me  :)   Nice pics!

Poison Ivy?  Wash with tecnu (sp) put on rubber gloves.  Cut vine at base.  Pull out of tree.  Wash with Tecnu two times.  Worked for me anyway.

I had just recovered from the poison ivy I got while hanging my treestand prior to the season.  I really wanted to hunt the stand, but I knew the vine was still there.  I carefully climbed up into the stand for the morning hunt.  Saw some deer that were just out of range.  After the hunt I carried out the procedure described above.  No worries since.

This has to be one of the best threads in here. I just love these pics of everyones bows and hunting areas and everything else. It just gets the blood flowing. Now if Santa only brings me that digital camera this year...

All,

Yes, its ivy. But I was real carefull and dont even have a trace of it. Had my first case of it earlier in the season. Never again!

Dutch,

It is a Checkmate Falcon. Thanks for the compliment.

Kyle,

Hey man! I havent forgotten you! My Dad was in town for two weeks. Then finals. I'm in Florida for Christmas but will be back on the 26th. School doesnt start back till January 17th!! So you might end up seeing more of me than you had planned. Just kidding. But yes! Definatly after Christams.

My season has been awsome. I still only have one deer to show for it, but I have never seen so many in my life. If I had been using the PSE I sold last year I would have had six by now!! I have never had a season like this. NO REGRETS! I'd rather watch 'em with a recurve than kill 'em with a compound.

That hairy root winding up that trees got me itching just looking at it!But looking at your hunting area,i'd shimmy up that tree too.
Great pics keep em coming.

Greg, What's Tecnu???  Thanks.      TomL

Anti Poison ivy/oak soap, works fantastically well.  You wash after exposure, and use it in the laundry and on boots.

What Bpaul said.  It is pretty cheap and over the counter.  It beats the $38 per bottle (x2) that I paid for Zenfel to get rid of poison ivy, though at the time I would willingly have paid more.  I keep the Tecnu stuff in my truck now.

Terry,

I'm with Curtis, this was a great idea. I enjoyed seeing images from other parts of the country and world, and sharing my images with everybody here. I'm already looking foward to next years season.

Thanks,

Here's what we do in Western Oregon when deer season ends.  That's my buddy Chris on the left.  If he looks cold, it's because he is.  We shot these nutria in a pond and he went swimming to get the arrows back.  You the man, Chris!

Stan

StanM

Well, dang, that's not much of a picture.  You can't hardly see it but there's a couple of nutria right in front of us.
