I purchased a Root Warrior off *-*** a couple of months ago and the lower limb has a slight twist when strung and drawn. As far as condition the bow is like mint but the twist worries me. I shoot all my bows not collect them and wonder if anyone can help me correct the twist or is it destined to be a wall hanger. Any help appreciated.

You can try submerging the twisted part in hot(ish) water for a few minutes and then gently twisting and holding the limb in the opposite direction of the twist. You need to hold it in the opposite direction for a few minutes until it cools. Some times this will help. You can also do the same thing with heat from a heat gun or hair drier if you're uncomfortable using water. Just be mindful not to over heat the limb and do more damage.

I've used both methods to straighten out a twisted limb.

You do not need heat at all. Just leave the bow strung and while holding the string in place(so it does not pop off the limb) twist in the opposite direction of the bad twist and hold for a few seconds. Do not worry about twist it quite a ways past center. Do this once a day for afew days and it will correct itself. Norm Johnson(Blacktail bows) had me do this with a $1000 bow and it worked perfect. You can heat with water under the tub faucet but it is not necessay and Norm said ya may do more harm than good. Shawn

Do not use a heat gun.

If you use heat from a bathtub, get the limb area to the point where it is warm/hot, hold against the twist a bit and run under cold water immediately while holding it.  You may have to do it a few times.  You could also do what Shawn said, but it will take more times and might come back in the not too distant future (but you could always redo it).

Do not use a heat gun.

I have taken out twist in at least  adozen bows and after a few times, none have returned. i leave my bows strung after doing it of course. Shawn

Thanks Shawn, I will give it a try and see if it corrects. I've read about "bumping" a limb back in so I assume this is what they were referring to. Appreciate all replys. thx

I did exactly as Shawn said yesterday. Checked bow this morning and the twist is no more. I can't believe it, one time and it is gone.
Thank you all for your help.

I worked a twist out of an old Bear Grizzly while I was shooting a 3-D course.

I twisted the limb back in place as I walked from target to target.....By the end of the course,The twist was all gone!!!!!   :archer:

I've also done what Shawn does on a couple bows & it works fine. One of them was a Blacktail also. Frank
