Well I finally OWN my own property.  Living in Colorado, where land is priced high than the moon, I was not sure I would ever be able to afford a place.  I have a house in a sub-division, but you are not allowed to shoot in the city. I always dreamed of a day when I would have a place I could just wander out onto and hunt, shoot and explore with the kids.  It is an amazing little place and I can not even express how cool it was to take that first hike with the boy and my wife.

Here I am surveying the place.

We own from this ridge top to the Road in the bottom. Deer and Elk and Sheep sign are on the place.

Even came with a house!;>)

Man that is awesome.  I have the same dream.  Maybe mine will come true someday.  I am still young yet so I have some time.  Congrats!!

We must go beyond the textbooks, go out into the untrodden depths of the wilderness & travel & explore & tell the world the glories of our journey

Congratulations! and I ask your pardon that I am currently so green with envy.

Elksong@work

Thanks Guys.  Coming from the back ground I have, to being able to do this is truely something that I would never havethought possible.

Cajun - the closest utilities are about a mile away.

Taiga Recurve

very cool. Those hunts with that little guy are going to be even more special now that it is on your very own patch of earth.

Great thread and congratulations!  Nothing sweeter than being able to walk out your door with your bow and start stumpin'.

Chortdraw

Jason, Where is your property located? I raised 2 boys in the mountains of Colo. They still thank me for this. There is just something about living in the mountain. Congrats on your new dream.

      Chort

Elksong

Chortdraw - it is west of Canon city.

We are hoping to build on the place in a couple of years, one dream at at a time......
What is man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, men would die from great loneliness of spirit, for whatever happens to the beasts also happens to man. All things are connected. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the children of the earth

Congrats! I am thinking of moving somewhere in Colorado myself.
