Aluminum Nocks on old wood arrows?

Does anyone know how the old timers used to make aluminum nocks for there arrows? Was there a mold they made them in or what? I am curious. Thanks for replies. Flint

I have several arrows with aluminum nocks on them and they all appear to have been lathe turned.
