GN Primitive Side Quiver

When I shoot a selfbow, I don't like anything attached to it...even an arrow keeper.  I always use one so I can hang my bow without arrow plummeting to the ground below me.  For my arrow keeper I use a match stick & rubber band.

Little side tracked there...back to the Primitive GN quiver        When I shoot a longbow or recurve I really like the way the GN quiver holds my arrows tight on the bow.  Eric (the other selfbow bear hunter this year) used his GN attached to a nice turned piece of wood with cordage to make it into a side quiver.  I know GN makes a side quiver but that's just another quiver to pack if I'm taking a selfbow and either longbow or recurve.  

Being a little rounded at the middle, I came up with this idea today for my "Primitive" side quiver.  I had a nice piece of Elk antler tip that I covered the sawed off end with Osage (matches my selfbow).  The curve fits my side...OK some of you can get away with a straight piece    :rolleyes:    Anyway I can now use one quiver for all situations...Doc

Stic,  This piece of elk antler is from a spike that hormoan was kind enough to send me for knife handles.  It isn't very dense and actually weighs less than a piece of wood.

Hood,  Here are a couple of pictures of the way I use the match stick arrow keeper. You can just flick it off with your thumb that holds the bow.  I always have a few in my pocket incase I flip them to the ground

How about a modeling picture Jeff. I can't figure out why you'd need a curved antler. You're wearing it like a Lakota quiver right?

Mickey,  I'm wearing it on the right side with arrow feathers pointing behind me.  The elk antler rests on my hip or love handle pending how high I want it under my arm.  The curve fits my bulging side so therefore we will forgo the modeling picture    Doc

Thats almost exactly how I wore my GN longbow quiver in 00 on a caribou hunt.   Though we didnt use the antler.  

Works like a champ, weighs nothing.   Now I'm using the chief side quiver by Jack Bowyers.  though it's a little heavier it's the caddy of side stalker style quivers!

Been using the same setup for two years now.  Works fantastic and weighs absolutely nothing.  Was great down in Texas for moving through the brush.

I used a carved piece of osage rather than an antler.
