I have some wood arrows that are in good shape other then their bent from me missing   :knothead:  I heard you can straighten them by using heat but how would I go about doing this? These are Birch shafts if that helps any   :help:    :help:

I just sight down them and flex them in the opposite direction of the bend.  Takes a little practice and you might even break 1 or 2 before you have it perfected but it will work on just about any shaft save Ipe.  If you heat wood up it will bend easier but you need to be careful on finished shafts not to overheat it.  Joseph

You could also use an eye bolt to pull the bend out.  This will not mar the finish too much.  The best for a finished arrow is an ACE arrow straightener.  It uses a roller and the finish it not hurt, marred or flat spotted.  If you don't care about flat spots you could use a round shafted screw driver.

I find Guru's tutorial in the How-To section on using a screwdriver to be really effective...

I use the same method Joseph uses & I've had some really crooked arrows come out straight. Just don't apply too much pressure all at once. Go slowly & be patient. Frank
