thanks redtail! your collection is amazing! I would like to add a B Mag TD to my Bear collection: the A red stripe shown and a '66 Kodiak. Great bows!

inrut

How about a set of red stripe custom #2 limbs of my making?

inrut

How about clear glass #1 limbs with Cedar veneers over Maple cores with Macassar Ebony fadeouts?

Randy M

Had one.  Loved it.  Sold it.  Kick myself everyday because I did.

Redtail2

Inrut, I have seen your limbs on Jon Talbot's bow. They are beautiful. I really like the cedar pair your showing above. Great job!

Here's a trio which shows (left to right) the 2011 dymondwood red striper, the 2012 bubinga, and a green striper from the 80's.

The grip on my bubinga is thinner/narrower and similar to the 80's takedown.  The 2011 model I have has a thicker grip, but I find they all shoot very well for me and I find it tough to pick a favorite.

Nice collection Lon.
I'm fond of the red stripe models myself and I recommend them all the time.
Your Bubinga version has some nice grain in the wood.
Enjoy them!

The bow on the far right? What year is that? How do I know what year a TD is. ?  I'm looking at a green stripe around me and it's handle is thin and not too deep. Very very comfortable, not too high a wrist, all things I love. Just wondering a year. It looks like the one on the far right

The one on the far right in the photo looks to me like the laminated greenstripe risers of the later 1980s. You can see the layers of wood that indicate the laminations. The risers from the early 1980s did not have that.

In my opinion, all greenstripe risers are well worth getting if they are in decent condition. If it is comfortable in your hand it will make a great bow. I highly recommend Rose Oak limbs in the #1 size for the greenstripe riser.

I know many folks favor the early green stripers, but I enjoy this later version.  If it feels good, it's for you.

Fantastic Felix, congratulations on another fine Beast! ....and what a Bow to take it with.
Hunting was hazardous, but at least it guaranteed the freedom of the individual.

There is no doubt that the onset of farming saw the end of leasure for the majority of people, who were destined to toil in the fields.

Bow looks great. My 2011 Red Stripe is shooting like a champ.
