I'm writing this with tears in my eyes but the end of my traditional shooting has finally arrived. Since mid-2005, I have been "blessed" with a neurological disease that has finally progressed to the point where I can no longer shoot my recurves to the degree necessary to humanely take a deer. My body told me it's time to quit and I am going to listen to it.

I am writing this to let everyone know that I will be listing most of my traditional equipment -except bows - for the 2007 St. Judes Auction. Two of my bow will be given away to needy children and young adults during Christmas time.

We all need to contribute as much as we can to the St.Judes fund. I pray everyday that no one, especially a child, has to go through what many of us are experiencing.

God bless everyone on this site and especially our troops who are fighting to preserve our freedom.

Mods- I apologize if this post is in the wrong location. Please move it to the appropriate location.

Hello there i cant pretend to know what you are going through. If you feel you cant do the animal you chase justice, that is a decision that i respect you for making. But theres a lot of foam out there you could put holes in and a lot of fellowship with friends to be shared.

Prayers out to ya.

And thank you for my freedom

Best wishes from me as well, I admire you for your descision regarding the harvesting of animals.  I am sure that doesn't make it any easier, but I respect you all the more.  I hope the best for you and yours, and I agree, keep at it, no doubt you have alot of wisdom to share.

Yes,  there's lots more to archery than bowhunting.   Stay at it as long as you can make the arrows fly.  Prayers and blessings from the Stout family.

Best wished to you in what ever venture or avenue you take.  As all of us can learn, please continue to allow us to learn from your wisdom. Just a hello now and then to let us know you are well

John,
I have never made your acquaintance;  nonetheless, your post touched my heart.  I would first like to thank you for the service you gave to your country and each of us.  Second I would like to encourage you to share the knowledge you have accumulated with the people who receive your generous gifts this Christmas.  My prayers are with you.

May the good Lord walk with you no matter which path you take. You will still have to stay in touch with this trad. gang and hang around the campfire.
