ok, between the two, which is your favorite for a secure, light weight bow quiver?

-the eagles flight model
- or a great northern

i am willing to pay more for the great northern if it is worth it. and also which model great northern would be best for a martin savannah?

wow, ok. Will i have to order the quiver directly from them in order to get the gripper for small diameter arrows (axis)?

ok, so far conflicting reports here, so could you please list your reasons for liking/ disliking one or the other?

atlatlzoom, I'm not going to step on any toes here. I'm sure the Great Northern is a darn good quiver. I just haven't had any experience with them. Now I know the Eagles Flight is a GREAT quiver. I have one, and I ordered two more 4 arrow models. Should be here this week. He's using red stiching on them to match the red accents on my Super Shrew Limiteds.

Yes, order directly from Don and get exactly what you want. LP

I tried both and preferred the Great Northern. You may also want to try the Thunderhorn Small Fry. Obviously, it's individual preference, so you will need to decide what works for you.
If it's in your way, move it.

I think most of them work well, I have tried just about all of them, never owend a Boa though. I just like the feel of the GN on my bow. Nothing against the Eagles Flight. I like to carry 5 arrows, 3 B-Heads and a couple of blunts.

Archery equipment is like anything else. We all have our preferences. One product will never suit everyone.

Our goal at Eagle's Flight Archery was to make a lightweight quiver that would not alter how a bow felt in hand, or the way that it shot. Our quiver weighs only 4-5 ounces, will probably make your bow quieter, and won't alter how your bow feels, or shoots, like a heavier one will.

There are those who want to carry more arrows on their bow, and that is fine. A large quiver full of arrows will definitly alter how your bow will feel in hand and how it shoots. Some will say it acts like a stabilizer, and maybe that works for them.

Personally, I like a lightweight bow, and I like to carry as little as possible on my bow. We make these quivers for those who want to travel light. I believe that it was Ron LaClair who said that he has never needed more then 3 arrows when hunting.  That's been our target, whose who need no more then three (or four) arrows.

Yesterday we placed a photo of the current EFA line of bow quivers on the Tradgang Sponsers Classified. The pricing is discounted for Tradgang members. We thank you for your support, and feel free to ask about other products that we make.

The great northern attaches using a rubber strap that wraps around the riser of your bow, and the wire frame sits "behind" the attachment points on your bow- it's the quiver I had used on longbows for a long time. Nothing wrong with it, but it does add substantial weight on its own and then fully loaded with five arrows you are getting up there.

The Eagle's Flight, as Don said, is almost like there is nothing there. He uses closed cell foam in his hood, the Great Northern uses hard rubber. I like the foam, because I can remove it, cover it with plasti dip to waterproof it to keep moisture off my b-heads, and reinsert.

Because the EFA is two pieces you can use it on a larger variety of bows- the GN will only adjust so much and then only if you buy the adjustable version. Even then you cannot change the angle of the hood or bottom piece- the EFA you can.

I do not like a wraparound style quiver on my TD recurves, and Don has responded to that by coming up with a limb bolt model for TD recurves which I and a couple other folks are field testing and it should be available pretty soon.

Carry a bow up and down a mountain all day and even 6 or 8 ounces will make a huge difference to how you feel at the end of the day when that shot opportunity of a lifetime presents itself.

I get no free quivers from Don, I pay just the same as everyone else, just in case someone is wondering...I just happen to like his stuff as it responds to a lot of the things we DISLIKE about bow quivers- mostly adjustability and the extra weight.

Some folks like Cadillacs, some like BMW's, and some like pickup trucks...it's all good as long as it gets the job done for you!

Another Eagles flight convert here. I have always been a fan of Thunderhorn quivers because they were well built, worked well, and mainly protected me from my broadheads.

Eagles flight does it all, and lighter to boot. I have one of Don's strap on models on my shrew and can't think of another quiver I would replace it with. My thunderhorn boa goes on the classifieds this week.

Like Ray, he has made me a limb bolt model and we are working on some changes but as soon as it's finalized, my two limb bolt Thunderhorns will be replaced by two Eagle's flight. My Numba1 Morrison has been wearing the prototype he sent me for about 2 weeks now and it's not coming off except for a different Eagle's flight. Not to mention, Don is extremely customer service oriented, even more so than I am used to in our trad community.

Lots of guys like the Great Northern but I never cared for 1) just leather in the hood to protect me from wicked sharp heads (sliding down a hillside with your bow in your hand you think about such things) 2) the attachement system and build quality seemed "cheap" in comparison 3) the one I had was adjustable but the adjustability made it noisy in comparison. Great Northern, it is light weight and does not make noise.

I used nothing but Great Northern for a lot of years but when the Eagle Flight came out I switched and wouldn't use anything else at this time. But I do have an idea for a change in the lower part of the EF that I would like to see.

I got the extension for my new EF bolt on quiver last night...works perfectly to move the hood up on the bow for us with short risers. I'll post pics tonight...you guys with 3pc takedowns who like bolt ons will love this one as much as the strap on model.

Bill, let Don know. I am floored by how Don incorporates customer ideas, I'm sure he'll at least hear your thoughts.

Now, if we can just get him to come up with a 5-6 arrow model for hunting texas or other target rich environments
