I hung a feed barrel down below the house and set a trailcam on it while I traveled out west over the weekend. Got some interesting pics. A couple of very nice hogs showed up. Have a look. This is one big gal that isn't a bit sensitive about her weight or eating habbits.

Getting a bigger mouth full of food sometimes requires some work.

There's always competition too!

Then once everyone got all they could eat they send in the second string to clean up the crumbs.

Then the big lone Boar that always travels solo shows up to sniff around. He obviously didn't like the flash and didn't stick around for a second pic. He's a very nice specimin with some cool looking lower legs. CK

For hunting to have a future, we must invest ourselves in future hunters.

DWRay

You are a lucky man.  Having to live in Southern California due to job requirements,if I put a feeder up the only pictures that would get would be of a group of yuppies with Starbucks discussing what kinda of contraption it could be.

Maybe we should have had the Striker Boy hunt at that location instead of Victoria.

DWRay, used to be plemty of Jacks out your way when i lived there.  Know what you mean about the yuppies.  In the mid 70's I went up coast by Big Sur to hunt turkeys.  Worked up a ridge before daylight and was rewarded with naked hippies sunbathing on the rocks.  Weent down low to look for pigs, but had that in my mind-ruined my hunt.

I couldn't sleep if all that was happening in my backyard at night! Gotta love it Curtis.

Obviously those hogs don't know who lives there.

It certainly took lots and lots of nights prowling the underbrush before the excitment of it all wore down to where I could sleep at night knowing there were still pigs out there that needed arrowing. I go to bed each night wondering if I should sleep or go pester the local hog population. The neighbow Rancher stopped me on the road awhile ago and asked if I would spend a few nights in his sweet corn patch. He says the hogs are doing $250-$300 in damage each night. The hog-dog guys are catching them as fast as they can but still they aren't slowing them down. Dontcha just hate it! HeeHeee!

Mike, The hogs are still hitting between 8:30pm and 11:00pm. It seems to be a piggy travel time around here. I generally don't see pigs on bait sites after around 11:00pm. They must know if they don't reach bait by then that other hogs have already struck. Of course the first pics I posted were from after midnight.  CK
