I'm having a T/D Recurve made & can't decide which woods...   :help:      My choices are Osage, cocobolo, zebra, stained red elm..
 Any Ideas
Pics would help!
Thanks

go to blacktailbows.com and look up his selections...

i recommend cocobolo for the riser, and bamboo in the limbs, with whatever stylish veneer suits you...

i personally think osage is butt-ugly on a takedown, but that's just me...

stained red elm doesn't look bad....make sure you get flat grain and not edge grain...as edge grain looks like, well....nothing...

I sent you a few pics of some Red Elm bows, some pics of Bocote bows and some misc pics.

Walnut limbs -- often over looked, natural camo, and a fantastic performer.  dino

Cocobola with osage accents does make and awsome handle too!

I have cocobolo with a shedua swipe and yew limbs on mine. Probably my favorite. I just ordered a Border GL with Indonesian Rosewood for the riser and limbs.

cocobolo makes a great bow.  Look at Habu bows website.

Thanks Guys
I'm thinking  riser cocobola and bubinga or zebra?

Limbs  Zebra or Stained Red Elm , Yew ?

Any other thoughts?

Steelhead

Coco bolo in the riser and Yew for the limbs. Now that makes for a handsome bow that should shoot sweet.Great riser wood choice and limb wood choice IMO.I like the butterscotch hue of the Yew with the darker coco bolo riser. They both compliment each other well.It would classy!

Curveman

I'd go with shedua swipe with the cocobolo then I'd pick the bubinga over the zebra..not sure on that one.
