A unique opportunity has presented itself. My son son will be doing some work near the Denali area late next spring. Thru his work, he has accumulated enough air miles to take ol' dad  along. It would be for a maximum of 10 days and I am hoping to glean some info from you fellow tradgangers as to any black bear hunting opportunities in the general area. I would hope to go self guided and hopefully rent a cabin, but tent camping is not at all out of the question. I've got about a year to put this together and right now I have a bit of freedom with the dates....say mid May to mid June. Any info will be helpful. I am sure that I will have many more questions as time progresses. Thanks in advance! Mike

Mike,
If its possible, get out away from the roads and you should see lots of bears.
What part of the park?

Chris, thanks for the link to the site, it will be a big help!
Willy, I am not exactly sure of what part of the park yet. Everything is in the planning stages right now. I was at my son and daughter-in-laws house this past weekend as he ran in the Music City Marathon. After the race, he just kind of dropped the trip in my lap, followed by...."I mean if you think you'd want to go to Alaska..."
His mom must have raised him right, I guess! LOL As our plans become more comcrete, I will keep you all posted and I am sure I will have many more questions as I go along. Thanks again! Mike
