I am getting a set, from a guy???

If anyone can help, you can have the right wings?

I found the link posted by the Ferret very helpful...have not tried it yet but looks very straight-forward...pictures are very nice to follow!

Hope that gets you started!

You can also split them with a utility knife or razor blade. Then you place them in a clamp and sand the quill to size.

The knife and grinding them works well, but I found it easier to split em by hand.
If you do use a knife, do as they suggest, stick the knife into a solid chunk of wood, then pull the feather through it. Careful though......very addictive.
