Pros and cons? I also would appreciate any comments on preferred longbow grips in general.

Thanks!

Curve, I'm waiting on a new Robertson Purist with a locator grip; Little experience that I've had with a dished grip, was that I liked it.  But opted for the locator grip anyway.  I'm used to them.......Shick

I think it is more of a personal choice as to which grip works best for you.I personally like longbow grip over a recurve.I like locator grips and dish grips and even staight grips on the right longbow.A locator is among my favorite,I feel you can grip it the same more consistently everytime. Some locator grips are more pronounced then other locators.I like a mild locator and I like the grip on my Griffin and Super Shrew.I think it is just more consistent.

Personally speaking from a Fuzed Neutral Wrist Position, I have a "Grand River" LongBow R/D and it has some kind of Suede Sewn on Grip, and it fits me almost as Good as the 'Curves I own!!
I am going to Buy a Rubber Non-Slip Grip, and add a Thumb Locater Under under that.

Terry, this is my latest one. All bamboo limbs and curley bubinga riser. 41# at my 24" draw.
 Smooth and quick.

My favorite grip of all time has to be the grip on Horne's Brushbow it fits you like a glove.Everytime you pick up that bow the way the riser is cut with the thumb groove you can't help but to pick up that bow the same way every time . My newest bow a turkey creek longbow has a longbow type grip with a swell to the inside of your palm with a flat riser on the opposite side. There was no need to have to get used to it it's very comfortable and is a pleasure to shoot.

Locator grip for longbow is great! To me its the easiest to shoot, a good 64 or 66 inch longbow is the real deal!      :D

Vermonster13, which bow is that?

Bowchef, those "attempts" are nice, I can tell they'd feel good just looking at them!

I added a small piece of wood under the grip of my tomahawk that makes it look about halfway between a locator and a recurve grip. Shure feels great and has helped in tightening my groups.
