I was reading gottabows thread about what kinda of pack to use on a week long pack hunt trip..I am hoping to do one this fall possibly 2-4 days..I see all the good ideas on what kinda pack to take..BUT..what would you put in the pack? and Why?

This year if get the chance it will be Mule deer and some whitetails in the Sandhills of Nebraska the whole pack etc probably wouldnt be necessary but a lot of fun I think..Hopefully before long will get to go for Elk in montana or moose or sheep any where I get the chance those would both be more of a base camp situation though i think..

2-4 days... a lite down bag, a bivy sack. a small poncho or fly... a small stove (liquid fuel) a qt pan, a thermarest pad (W/chair kit) freezedried foods, luna bars... enough water and a filter to get more... as litlle else as possible... I hate heavy packs as my body rebels and tells me I ain't a young kid anymore....
Expect the best. Prepare for the worst. Capitalize on what comes.
