first of all good evening.

I hate to ask but...some know I am new to this so here goes. If there is a place for this info let me know I could not find it. I just purchased a new string. The serving came off the one that came with my bow.The string size was recomended by 3 rivers.it was a little longer than the one I had. He told me to twist it to make it shorter and to try and make it quieter. when I first used it it slaped the back of my rist by my hand. I made it tighter till it stoped. I never listened for noise before so who knows if the old one made it. How tight can I make it without it busting something. also I am not confident now as I was with the old string. I dont feel I can shoot it as well.I dont know what to do now?I am     sorry for such a long post.

Gene,

You are not complaining about an uncommon problem.   Finding a quaility string maker is harder than one may think.  I know a guy here in Mich. that does a great job.  I learned how to make strings from him and I have made several thousand.  He only does flemish strings now.  You can send me an e mail msg and I can connect you with him.  when you have a well made string, life is good.....
