I took a friend on his 1st hog hunt this weekend.....and don't ya know he was pumped when we found an area where the trails had trails....you know, like frontage roads...  :D

We saw one single, and 5 groups of hogs this weekend.....busted heck fire out of one group that we nearly stepped on....got busted by the wind on one group at 100 yards....got within 40 yards of two groups and the wind shifted.....and Keith almost got his bow drawn on one of a group inside 20 yards......yep, the wind shifted again.

It was 90 degrees on Saturday, and the wind was playing tricks on us all day...... Sunday we were wearing polar fleece     :rolleyes:

Looks like you found the on ramp and the Interstate - now what time does the evening rush hour start?  
Lots of those piggies must be about to head home for dinner.....They just don't realize who's house it's at yet!

Yeah....its a story....a short story.    

We had a blast, and he definately got the bug let me tell ya.... to see a total of 31 hogs on his 1st hunt, and to almost get a shot was pretty darn good.  We hunted real hard, and it was 'almost'....but as he was telling me about the 'almost' stalk as I stayed back, he said 'that made the trip right there whether I kill anything or not.  Oh yeah....his heart was about to pound out of his chest he said.
