Just would like to hear some opinions on what others are doing as far as Trapping limbs on laminated Hybrids.  Trap or not trapping, and if so which way...Belly or Back?

Also what kind of width on the limbs are you using from wedge butt end to tip.

I'm into my third set of limbs for a design I came up with and just looking for more info to digest besides my own wood shavings.

Thanks!

I will mildly trap my limbs to adjust weight.  On glass-limbed bows, I trap to the belly.  On carbon limbs, to the back.

like bowchef said.
my limps are 1 2/8" at the fades
and 1/2" at the tips

Let me add to any T/D longbow or Hybrid bowyer what type of tapers are your using (.001 or .002)and do you add your thickness in the tapers or add a parallel to make weights.  I have been making it in the tapers and leaving the parallel out to avoid stacking.

Thoughts?

Kirk -

Replied to your question, but it was sent back saying your mail box is full.  Empty something and I will send it again later.

Thanks,

i have different tapers on the different tipe of forms.
it all depends on how much reflex and the lenght of the limp AND where you want the bow to stack.
sometimes i use 2 tapers and sometimes a parralel and 1 taper.
the overall taper on my bows is between 0.002" and 0.003".
