TAKE DOWN OR ONE PIECE RECURVE?????????

Hell-o gents!!!! I'm at the point of buying a new bow and I need to know or get some opinions on this question.
I want to know if there is a difference in a take downs performence compared to a one piece recurve? I want to buy a Bob Lee Hunter,in Grey. I'm thinking of a 58/60" @ 46/47#'s. I spoke to Rob Lee and he explained there is a 2# + or -. He also explained that with my 29" draw, I would be better off getting a 60" bow instead of a 58". Any suggestions or opinions?????????     Thanks to all that reply.

I just got my TD today and I really like it once you take it down you could almost put it in your pocket. Im not sure if diffrence in performance but I can say one thing I like more is that if you twist the limbs simply order new ones!

I would opt for the longer limbs with a 29" draw. I have also heard that the takedown is a little quicker than a 1 piece.

Hoping to get a few more opinions, I'm asking once again gents it there is a difference in "PERFORMANCE" between the one piece bow and the take down?
I just ordered a Bob Lee HUNTER take down and I wondering what would be the difference between my 45# MAMBA and this 48# HUNTER?

    I have a varied of both BW's,Blacktail,Acadian,Bob Lee, Bears and such. I also have a 29" draw, and perfer a 62" bow, min 60" bow and 64 ers are just fine. The longer bows just SEEM to draw smoother at there poundage verus a shorter bow.
I see no differance in the three pc verus 1pc with all other things being equal. IE Poundage and arrow weigth. I seem to have a preferance for 1pc thats only between my ears. And I can give no explanation for it. Not been known to turn down a great deal on purty 3 pc!

I bareshaft tune them all, also they all have been shot over chorny graph. A honest speed overall if thats what you are looking for with what I shoot would be 175 FPS with hunting weight arrows. Thats 50-54 lb bows.
Bob makes a great bow, you will be happy with. If it where for me it would be a 62" but we are all differant. Good luck!

You'll  have to test them both to determine this, nobody can tell you what the performance difference will be btwn the two.  The higher poundage should equate to some better performance, but in the end every bow will behave how it wants.

Have fun playing with them and post some performance results btwn the two when it arrives.

Related to 3pc vs 1pc...same as above...differences, if any will likely be slight and vary from bow to bow...test away and have fun.

I hunted for many years with one piece now my go-to is a Bob Lee takedown 58" 56 and 51 @ 28" depending how I feel or weather.Most of the season I use the heavy limbs but when I have too much clothes and cold I use the lighter.I cannot feel any difference get what you like but I think you will enjoy the takedown I really like mine and shoots better than I can and I like the limb change option.I use 2016-and 2018 the trajactory is the same if I switch limbs.Kip

I like the TD's as when I broke a limb I just had to order another set not a whole new bow. THey are a tad heavier in the riser and possible a bit more stable therefore (why I like longer risers) but I am sure you would get used to either. I agree on getting the 60 for your draw length. I do travel with mine so that is a plus as well, of course.

T/Ds are nice for the convenience and one-piece bows are almost always lighter. Qs bjk said ya really cannot tell on performance until ya speak to the bowyer. Just ask Rob which is quicker and shoots best. I know RER bows that their one piece Arroyo is definitely quicker than their 3 peice T/D and I believe Morrisons Arapaho was quicker than his T/Ds as well. It all depend on the design of each. I will say if ya want an awesome one-piece the Arroyo is a fast stable bow that even at 54"s can handle a 29" draw with ease, no pinch or stacking. Shawn

My 55# Martin Hatfield TD consistently chronographs over 190.  I have a 56# Pitsley predator that shoots in the low 180's, a 55# Damon Howatt Super Diablo that hits the mid 180's, and an old Herters 49# Sambar that reaches the upper 180's with the same arrows! My current belief is that the individual bow, regardless of design, is the determining factor. LOL with you new bow.
