Mr.Vic

Howdy my friends. I was able to get on a computor tonight for a while to let some of my trad gang friends know i recieved the gifts in the mail and the words from you to my heart. I arose today to a crisp dew on the ground and a erie mist flowing across the river. Through the cloud of moisture noise of geese flying upstream awoke the morning. I enjoyed a nice fire cooked breakfast of sausage and eggs and coffee with my father as we sat overlooking the water on the cabin deck. As the sun arose and burnt off the fog the animals started to come alive. Across the river I am blessed with watching a female Redtail Hawk sit on her eggs. The nest is about fifty feet up in a big cottonwood and three feet by three feet and two feet thick of branches. Yesterday we exchanged whisles back and forth. I talk to her every morning as i step out to give thanks to another great day. I put up several bird feeders and have quiet a few friends showing up now. I also been seeing migrating comerants? a all black bird flying up river. And today watched one dive down into the river and come up with a shad fish. He swallowed it whole. I also have a raccoon who has visited me two nights in a row and will probably try to keep him interesting in me. Everyday I see eagles hawks waterfowl and numerous song birds moving up and down stream. Life is very interesting when we slowdown and have the time to observed and learn from nature. Today the big project was to install a shooting range for me to enjoy the many bows i recieved and about to recieve from fellow tradgangers. I hope to have some pictures in a week or so so hi for now and may you all walk in beauty.   Mr vic          Mato Cante

Hey Mr Vic,
It sure looks like you have found a spot to find peace in your heart and mind. I've been in your boots before and I sure wish I had a place to collect my thoughts and renew my relationship with the Lord. Keep the faith!

Killdeer

Oh, you make antler pipes, Vic?  :saywhat:

Cormorants ride very low in the water, swim and dive around and hang out on rocks and in trees with their wings spread wide to dry. When in the water, the place where the neck joins the body often looks submerged, they ride so low. Our raptors have hatched, and are keeping the parents ragged finding food for hungry bills.

Thanks for your message from the river, it gave me a moment to relax and recollect all the things that I can't seem to find the time for these days. Thank God I have the memories, and know where to go to recapture some of them.

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Vic,

Good to hear from you, and even better to know that things are going well for you now.  All of us should take some time to do what you are and get back to nature and feed our souls once in a while.

Stay in touch, and God Bless you richly.
Well, who'da thunk it!

Hi Vic

Glad to see you back!

    Where are you in Iowa, I'm headed out that way next week Tuesday. I will be about 25 minutes SW of Des Moines. Closer to Winterset. Are you anywhere in that neighborhood?
