awhile ago this topic was brought up and i thought it was pretty neat. after turkey season ends ill have some arrows that a  i may not care if i loose, so figure i may launch some at a groue or two before deer season comes around. so if any of you guys have ever done this kinda thing just some advice on heads, arrows, and techniques would be great. also id love to see some pictures i really enhoyed those last time.

I havent tried yet, being  a "newbie", but Im gonna. I think my dog will adjust well, and she doesnt care as long as she can find pheasants.
For grouse, I would leave her home though...I would try spot and stalk. I have also had grouse come in to "calls", of course I was only having fun then, not hunting. I slapped my pant leg trying to imitate a drumming male....had two fly in to within ten yards.
Good luck either way.

I'll be trying to get some crows this summer!, they always ruin my squirrel hunts, every time one come in, all the squirrels retreat to the trees!

I shot through goose wings twice last fall.  It's very difficult to get up and make an accurate shot out of a pop-up blind.  Very fun trying to get a goose on the wing.  It made for some entertaining video.

For off season practice pigeons "rock Dove" are often found around farms, bridges, etc.  I have also heard they taste like any other dove, and there is no season or limit.

Good Luck

I've shot lots of blue grouse with my recurve in the bighorns. The best thing I've found is a big rubber blunt. Otherwise it doesn't matter what you shoot them with, alot of them will fly off, lock there wings and be gone with your arrow stuck in them.(ie. broadhead,judo,g5)

I use a .38 shell blunt. never tried any thing big like a goose, just Grouse and Dove. (on the ground) On the wing?  :scared:  go for it.
