I have used lot of different woods in limbs but have always wanted to try cedar, just thought I would share a pic of it. It is a straight longbow 68" 55# @ 28 thanks for looking.

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Thanks for the nice coments, I have been itching to give it a try. Ian I have seen self bows made of cedar but I would imagine it would have to be a exceptional piece of wood, my hat is off to the self bowyers, there is sure alot of work that goes into one. Kenny you are right about the knots my first  veneer moved at the knots after being in the hot box and the wood I used had been drying for years. I cut the second oversize to make sure I could get my width. It glued up good the knots stayed solid with no cracks. Tillering was a breeze it came in about 1/8" positive so I took a little more off the top limb to get 3/16" I have put about 200 arrows through her and am sure tickled with the way she shoots quick and smooth. thanks

Ok, Question time    .... What Wood are you using for the Bow itself? Where did you buy the Cedar Veneers, or did you Make them? What Kind of Glue did You use? Gotta have a Hot-Box to make this?
Uh....... Thats all I can Think of for now.      :goldtooth:
