Talkin to an older gentleman the other nite and he asks"Can you put glass on an old recurve for me?" He says he doesn't think it has any glass on it and then tells me it has a fingerjointed handle section!  Has anyone seen one of these? I'm guessin its bout 65 yrs old, little before my time....  ( said he got it for his 10th B-day)
Also, when did they start usin glass on bows??

BTW I told him I thought it would be worth more as is! Hope he brings it with him next time and I can look it over and get some pics!   :)
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Thanks again,in 1939 they made an osage recurve from billets, thats soundin like it! Maybe I misjudged his age a bit!!

BTW in 1946 they show a modified reflex bow,so I guess these hybrids are nuthin new...

That's probably it. Killdeer will fill you in on the history of what we call the hybrid now. Theres another thread here with a bow from the olden days that was called a curve of some sort that would be considered a hybrid now.

Don't deal with me, I stole from the St Jude's Auction.

Ed Scott at Owl bows has Sinewed a couple of old production selfbows with good results. I don't know about collector value of the bow in question but most of the old Lemonwood and Hickory selfbows have little current value beyond sentimental value.

Kenny, you may want to go the Wall and do a search for "Most sought after collector's bow?" There are some old, All wood BP recurve take downs on there.. Might be worth more as is than glassed
