I am thinking of trying some 175gr Razorcap broadheads.
I would appreciate some input from those that have used them.

LazerRay

they are decent BH and will leave a great bloodtrail

Excellent heads!  One of the few heads around that is actually worth a $10 price tag IMO.

Fly great, penetrate better than you'd expect and are strong too.  Good bloodtrails as long as you do your part.  All around great heads.

Just don't expect them to come from the package as sharp as they advertise.    "[dntthnk]"

I think they are over-priced.

I've had some that were super sharp and others not. I find them a little easier to sharpen than the WW.
Still think they cost too much.
Since the company was bought out It's been harder to find the 175 gn.bodies.

I use them and love them. The only thing i have found is sometimes the blade cartridges vary in weight.

Thanks everyone for the input the jury is still out, I have a hard time spending $10.00 a head for any broadhead.

I know I will stick with my two blades for Elk, I have a Caribou hunt in August and was thinking of something that would fly well in the wind and give a good blood trail.

Thanks again and keep the info coming.

The caribou in my avatar was taken with a 175 grn Razor Cap and 50# longbow. Arrow got broken when he rolled on it and lost the head, It was a good trade though.

My experiance with Razor caps has been thus, before the were bought out, they came very sharp, strong and were easy to resharpen.  The ones I have had since are still strong, but I have had a hell of a time getting them to take a razor edge.  It hasn't happened to me, but I hear the tip is a bit prone to curaling just like the WW can be. They fly grate, and leave a heck of a blood trail.
got arrows?

Arrow4Christ

Bard1,
Use a ceramic rod to sharpen them out of the package. Lay it flat and push 2 edges at a time across. Do this 6 times each side, then 5, then 4 etc. til you get to 1. Hope that helps.

Tater

Morning Star

My first pack of R-Cap heads had blades breaking at the rear ferrule weld.  They mentioned a batch with hardening problems and sent me a new package of blades.  Haven't tried them since.
