Tiller tuning on a glass recurve

This old homemade recurve seems to have a tiller problem.  It is straight as an arrow unstrung, but one limb pulls to one side strung and at draw - I presume this to be a tiller problem.  I made a best guess and started to remove material on one side, but seemed to get worse so I stopped and thought I'd ask for help.  Do I remove material from Side "A" on the outside of the bend or Side "B" on the inside?

Is it a tiller problem or does the string grove need to be adjusted???

May be you have a limb twist.Try the hot water method to straighten it. be sure to seal the area where you took off material first. A is the srong side.

You can also adjust a bit by filing the stringgrove on side B a little deeper.

run the limb under hot water for a few minutes until hot. Then twist in the opposite direction and run under cold water while holding the twist . You may have to do it a couple times and don't string it till its cold . :0) Hope this helps  Drew

I just got through tuning up an old Ben Pearson recurve with an identical twist. I tried the hot water thing it it wouldn't take the twist out of mine. so rathere than sanding or grinding on it, i used a heat gun. (High powered hair dryer) I put the thing in by bow press with just enough tension to hold the bow steady. Then i took a piece old t-shirt and dampend it slightly and wrapped it around the twisted limb. Then i took a 10" crescent wrench and fit it over the t-shirt covered limb at 90 degrees. i hung a 20 ounce fishing weight off off the end of the wrench to add a little preasure besides the weight of the wrench. i heated the cloth until it was steaming slightly. and left the wrench with the weight on it over night. BINGO!!!! It took the twist out & it stayed straight too.
