Naw,it's a waste. Just send it to me and I'll take care of it for you. Hah. Actually, you would have to put a lot of reflex in the limbs, but should work okay.

whitebuffalo

thanks 2 fletch, I'm thinking about buying a righty and a lefty both in emaculant condition but I need some more input from the gang here on if its worth doing,,These risers are drop dead beautiful and thought it would make a neet first bow build for me..  anyone else build anything like this..

Yes, it can be. Here's a Darton Trailmaster. I had to make wedges to get the angle right, but as you see it can be done. The limbs were spare from a Kohannah.

I would love to get some longbow limbs for my Jefferys riser. Any good ideas were?
Zen without realization of the body is empty speculation. If I could only stop dropping the BOW!!!!!!

Whitebufflo, thanks for waking me up to a great idea....I've got an old Jennings bow that is about 25 years old that looks almost exactly like the one in your picture....I'm going to pull it down today and see if it's possible to put recurve limbs on it....

Eric Krewson

Shot with a guy last weekend that had made a recurve out of a similar riser. He even used the limbs off a broken tip recurve. Shortened the limbs, glued up enough stuff to make them fit the limb pockets and finished the bow.

BenBow

There are some pics of a wooden riser converted to a recurve on one of the other forums. Here's a link    Wood riser conversion

Shakes, not get, make!  It doesn't take much to make a form for take down limbs.  Just decide what you want it to look like and go for it.

Dang I will be watching the yard sales this summer. Longbow limbs on that riser would be great.<><

Younger money, faster whiskey, older women and more horses.....or something like that..

Whitebuff,

I have the exact same bow hanging in my garage, old Bear "Brown Bear", just waiting for an upgrade.Your right the riser is beautiful and it feels great in the hand.  I'm not sure if the bow can be fitted with factory takedown limbs or not, I asked Warf about it and he said that they probibly couldn't be fitted with the ILF limbs that you normally see on the WARF bows with his custom pockets because of the limb angle.  Thats not to say that you or I couldn't build our own limbs to account for this.  I'll be watching this post to see what you come up with.
