I have seen several questions and threads on will this wood make a bow lately.  If possible, lets list them all in one place.  I have seen several folks making bows from woods I didn't know would work.  Would be nice to know of any that have been tried that worked out good.
My short list of successful bow woods(ones I have used):
Red Oak, Hickory, Peacan, Iron wood, Osage.

anyone else want to list their sucessful woods?

One that I'm going to try that may surprise people is scotch broom. I have my eye on a clump of 'old growth' scotch broom where there are 6' long trunks 2 1/2" thick. I saw it on a list of working bow woods.  http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/post/bowyersjournal/vpost?id=1385521&highlight=working+bowwoods

Anyone ever try dogwood, I'm about to clear several of those out so I can breath.

All woods CAN make a bow. Better woods for self bows. Osage , Hickory, Ash, Hackberry,  Red Elm, White oak, Red Oak,Yew, Walnut, Cherry.... Add a backing and the "good" list keeps expanding.
