Hey guys,
I just recently built my first board bow and i love it. I think i'm addicted to building them now. But it pulls 55# at my draw and i'm shooting gold tip 35/55 with 200 grains up front out of it. This comes up to about 470 grains. I know this is kinda light, i think it was about 8.6 gr/#. I'm wondering since they fly good if i should add weight tubes to them just to get the arrow weight up. I've heard that the weight tubes don't affect arrow spine. IS this true?? So my question is, leave arrows alone since they fly good, use the weight tubes by 3 rivers archery, or add rubber tubing to the arrows?? If i use the tubing what size should i get and how much does it weigh per inch?? Sorry for all the questions but maybe someone can help me.

Sacrilige, Carbons from a selfbow. ( I confess-I've done it also). Unfortunately I know wood pretty well but don't know carbon tweaking in all its glorious detail. My underatanding is that the weight tubes install in the ends of the shaft-weight up front will have a more dramatic effect on dynamic spine than weight in the rear.

Adam, it is indeed true that the weight tubes don't effect spine.

I use aquarium tubing,it weighs 6.5 grns per inch and it does change the tune on my bow, prolly cause the nearly 200 xtra grns slows the arra down quite a bit.
Stay sharp, Kenny.
