I shot the best groups i ever have wearing an old leather work glove. I have a super glove but it keeps getting ridges on the index finger i smooth it out and it comes right back, it goofs up my release. So tonight i spotted an old leather wok glove i thought what the heck do i have to loose. My release was never smoother and my groups were never tighter. Noe i need to duplicate it with a shooting glove that i can feel the string with any suggestions.

I made one out of an old work glove for the exact same reason...besides...a pair of work gloves is cheaper than most shooting gloves. LOL.

I shoot with goatskin gloves I get at ACE hardware 2 pairs for $11 when the weather turns cold.

I like cheap   :bigsmyl:  a full glove might get a little warm in the summer.

I use a regualr shooting glove in the summer. But I am really considering cutting the thumb and two fingers off of one of these to shoot with. Gloves are getting crazy priced for how fast they wear out. Was actually thinking of having a cobbler here in town reinforce the fingertips on the goatskins a bit to get them perfect.

I guess if i chopped up the right hand glove i could make my own to get through the warm weather. I know what you mean about the cost of gloves you can spend a lot and not like it.

Seems like most of the ones I've got always have a twist in them and just don't sit right on my hand, where as the goatskins, well, fit like a glove.

Early on in my bow shooting career, I used to use a handball glove and it worked fine.  It is leather, not near as thick as a normal shooting glove, but thick enough to protect my sensitive little pinkies from string rash. It is a full glove, all fingers and tends to keep your hand a bit warmer as well.  Might have to go find another one and try it out again.

Or you could do what I do: shoot leather gloves in the fall & winter and barefingers in the spring & summer. Just got tired of losing regular shooting gloves and tabs...

Yup, I want everyone to shoot well. Some great archers have usef gloves but tabs are easier and mo' betta.

I use leather work gloves for hunting in cool weather and in Texas thorn country, regular shooting glove in the summer and at shoots. I also like a glove on my bow hand when shooting "off the knucle" - hate that fletching in the web of my hand injury. One pair of leather work gloves I dyed black with regular leather dye and use for camo situations. Its surprising how much you hands show up without something on them.

I have tried using a tab several times they just don't work for me.
I sure do go through the gloves too.
Thanks for the tip stone knife

Heck ya! Those deerskin workgloves(Yellowstone gloves) are the bomb in the colder weather! But like Tree man says, tabs are Mo betta.

Black Widow has a 3-finger glove with an extra layer on the tips which I really like.  Makes for a really "slick" release.  I used a Simmons "slick tab" before I found this.

I have tried the leather work glove route before (several different pairs) and always wind up shooting waaaaayyyy to the left.  I just haven't found the right pair yet.
