Heres a skull mount I did of a black bear. The claws are strung on leather. They are the rear claws since I had a3/4 mount done.I used some heavy duty peroxide to bleach it out, and glued in the teeth.

Looks awesome. Thanks for sharing! I really like the look of those European mounts. Take care, Matt

How did you mount the skull to the plaque? I have an Elk rack just leaning in the corner. Looks nice what you did. Thanks, Jesse

That's a great bear. I had the local beetle man clean this up for me and then put it to some ash with a waxed sheet rock screw.

Now it's a constant reminder of what I should be shooting instead of those tasty little ones  ;)
Is it September yet?!

Here's the boar I shot at Curtis' place last summer...

...and a decent 8-point from a couple years ago.

Here's a couple I had done years ago. One's with the angled plaques look much better IMO

I like that plaque with the buck Jason. I went with a plain hang on wall.

I was wondering if anyone could tell best way to clean a skull up? I still have the skull in my freezer from a Wild Boar I shot almost 2 years ago. I would like to clean it up and display it. By the way all of these look great.
                  Thanks, Bill

I just tie a rope to em, and pitch it in the creek. Let the minnows and turtles do the work! Takes a little while, but there's no mess and no smell! Guss

JWilliam,I did 2 boar skulls a few years ago.1st, just remove as much tissue as you can with a scalpel or knife and then throw it in a large pot of boiling water and add a little bit of tide detergent.Keep an eye on it and when it starts to get transparent or pinkish in spots take it out and flesh it again.Keep doing it until its really clean and then brush on some peroxide, the kind they use for bleaching hair.Do this in the sun if you can, itll help a lot. When it gets as white as you want it rub baking soda on it to stop the bleaching. They can still be a little greasy but a little soap will cut it.Ive done quite a few skulls like this and it works out pretty well.

Dermestid beetles from carolina biological supply. Your neighbors will love it!  When I moved a couple years ago I left (accidentally) a big rubbermaid with four heads getting munched on by a bunch of beetles. I came back when I realized that I had left it and the new owners had stumbled upon my "box" and immediately thrown it away. Man, there went some good skulls in there - but I guess I can't blame them.

Here's one from the 2005 season I've posted before:

I've got two more that I'll do the same way with my majic five deer arrow attached.  I'll post some pics in about a month.  The arrowheads are just getting finished.
